Ryan Malphurs, M.A., Ph.D.
Dr. Ryan Malphurs is the managing partner of Delphi Litigation Strategies. Dr. Malphurs’ background in persuasive and legal communication provides an effective foundation for litigation and trial consulting services including witness training for deposition and trial; focus groups and mock trials; voir dire and jury selection; development of opening statements and closing arguments; and general trial strategy. Dr. Malphurs has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation (IP, Oil and Gas, Breach of Contract, etc….) and is regularly called to handle cases where witness testimony is critical. His unique experience observing more than 150 U.S. Supreme Court arguments also enables him to advise attorneys preparing for bench trials and appellate arguments.
Dr. Malphurs received his Ph.D. in Communication from Texas A&M University. During his time at Texas A&M, he began researching U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments, later writing a book published by Routledge Press titled Rhetoric and Discourse in Supreme Court Oral Arguments. Dr. Malphurs has published his research in Communication Law Review, Journal of the Association of Legal Writing Directors, Journal of American Culture, and The Jury Expert among others. His research has also been prominently covered by a variety of news sources, most notably the New York Times, National Public Radio, and the Washington Post.
As a Jesuit alum at both the high school and college level, Dr. Malphurs remains committed to the Jesuit mantra of “men and women in service for others,” working closely with the Dallas legal community through pro bono services when his time permits. Dr. Malphurs has assisted the Human Rights Initiative, Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, local Prosecutor¹s Offices, and various local attorneys with clients in need of assistance. He welcomes anyone seeking pro bono trial services to contact him to ensure equal access to justice for all people.
Dr. Malphurs played rugby in high school, college, and semi-professionally, and now enjoys the less physical but equally challenging games of golf and billiards. When his family and work permit him the opportunity, Dr. Malphurs enjoys traveling to remote destinations to pursue his passion for backpacking and fly- fishing. Marion Stampley Jr., M.A., J.D.
Principal Consultant Marion Stampley has more than 20 years of experience in conducting and managing focus group and mock trial research projects. These studies are designed to provide trial attorneys with valuable information, to inform case strategies, and improve case outcomes. To date, he has worked on over 350 mock jury and focus group projects throughout the US and Canada and was co-founder and managing partner of a prior jury research company. Marion also has extensive experience in the areas of research design, witness preparation, case-theme development, selection and management of shadow juries, jury selection, and conducting post-trial interviews.
Marion has managed and staffed several multimillion-dollar ERISA, trade-secret, intellectual property, construction lawsuits and research studies. He has successfully managed shadow juries on landmark cases for Fortune-500 clients in state and federal venues in the US and Ontario, Canada. He has been a featured speaker on the topic of jury research for AmLaw General Counsel Conferences, USLAW Conferences and Events, as well as CLE conferences. He has also served as adjunct professor at Regis University, West Virginia University, and the State University of New York at Albany and Plattsburgh.
Marion received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University of New Orleans, administrative legal training at the National Center for Paralegal Training, a master’s degree in communications with specializations in mediation and conflict resolution from Regis University, a law degree from Saint Louis University-Birmingham School of Law, and Certificate of Federal Contract Management from Villanova University. Marion is a member of the National Bar Association and maintains memberships in various mediation and conflict resolution organizations.
Spending quality time with his wife and three children is a high priority. Marion especially enjoys family vacations, gardening, cooking, cycling, skiing, tennis, and now pickelball. His extensive travel has also allowed him to satisfy his moderately "healthy" travel hobby of discovering uniquely-local pastry shops in cities he visits.
Alison Bennett Richardson, M.S.
Alison Bennett Richardson, M.S. is a Principal Consultant at Delphi Litigation Strategies. Her background in Human Development, Psychology, and Communication Studies provides a uniquely interdisciplinary foundation for her work across all aspects of litigation and trial consulting, with a particular depth in witness communication training, jury research, and trial strategy.
Ms. Richardson brings nearly twenty years of experience as a principal trial and jury consultant in high-stakes civil litigation nationwide. Her practice encompasses witness communication training and preparation for deposition or trial testimony, mock trials and focus groups, jury selection and voir dire, shadow juries, trial monitoring, and the development of opening and closing statements. Ms. Richardson built her litigation consulting practice through work with Bloom Strategic Consulting, Tara Trask and Associates, and Cathy E. Bennett & Associates.
Ms. Richardson's approach to witness preparation is distinguished by its grounding in behavioral science. She has developed interactive preparation courses built on the sciences of psychology, communication, and sociology which prioritize transforming the witness's mindset before addressing the facts of any specific case. Her work spans the full spectrum of witnesses, from corporate executives and technical experts to first-time lay witnesses, and has contributed to significant outcomes in complex commercial, intellectual property, products liability, employment, and family law matters. Her work includes the 2016 T. Boone Pickens trial which produced a $164 million verdict, as well as work for corporations including Newegg in an intellectual property matter that resulted in a successful defense outcome. She has also facilitated shadow juries in multi-month "bet the company" trials and provided community training for volunteer advocates in pro bono settings.
Ms. Richardson is an author and lecturer on juror psychology, courtroom and deposition communication, and trial advocacy, having presented at programs sponsored by the American Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, and numerous individual law firms. Her work has appeared in The Jury Expert, Plaintiff Magazine, and the American Bar Association's In-House Litigator. In January 2026, she was invited to serve as a trial consultant commentator for Dallas-Fort Worth Fox News Channel 4 during coverage of the Adrian Gonzalez trial, a high-profile case with significant national attention. She has served in leadership for the American Society of Trial Consultants and has served in pro bono capacities with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and Dallas CASA. She is also a graduate of Leadership Texas and serves on the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business Advisory Council.
